During the interview Anna Maria narrates about her childhood, marked by acute health problems, that forced her to leave her family in order to move to Susa, a village in the Piedmont Alps, where she could breathe healthy air. While she was attending the 3rd year of high school, her father died and she had to leave school and give up her dream to became a medic. She decided to become a nurse and so she moved to Milan, and then to Turin, where she started her new career. The wish to help people drove her to be a missionary, spending two months in Perù, where she got in touch with a new reality, made of extreme poverty.
In her life, as well as work and worship, Anna Maria also had a lot of hobbies, such as tennis, motorcycles, music and piano.
Anna Maria Gasparotto is now living in the retirement home of Asti, where the interview took place.
