
Michele Colombero
Herders in the Alpe Gardetta
Michele Colombero was born in 1988 in a family from Marmora. His family has been herders in Alpe Gardetta since 1935. In the last 23 years, they have also managed a farm holiday in Canosio.
The young herder presents his family and its activity. He talks about the transhumance and the ritual practices linked to it. He tells of his everyday life in the mountains, its activities and works.
He points out the importance of the Nostrale d'Alpe association for their activity and the present challenges the work presents.
This interview was collected for a research promoted by the Cuneo Province Council - Department of Agriculture, parks and forest and conducted by the University of Gastronomic Sciences in order to institute the archive Cuneo province agriculture between tradition and innovation.
