Caterina Marenco
Birth, growth and professional affirmation of a Child Care Giver
Caterina Marenco became a childhood coward in the 1970s, falling in love with the profession during her first internship, abandoning the previous idea of becoming a physiotherapist.
The story starts with her educational path: an excursus that begins from the school setting of those years and that goes to dwell on the reference figures of Caterina who supported her during the internship and that allowed her to become an experienced professional.
His first working years are characterized by the birth of the neonatal pathology department
of the Sant'Anna hospital in Turin to which it contributes to give shape. The intense emotional baggage accumulated here and the consequent need to detach will eventually lead her to request transfer to the neonatology department, where she will spend the last years of her career.
With her journey of memories she deals with issues such as: the evolution of preterm newborn care, the revolution of the open nest, contact with the new generations of nurses, the influence of her being a mother at work and her relationship with death as a professional and woman.

Knowledge of healing
Knowledge of healing
The archive “knowledge of Healing” was created with the aim of giving space to the narration of the places of healing from a particular point of view: that of the patients and the medical staff. A point of view which differs from the statistical one that official relations use to describe the medical field. This is how we find new stories about how throughout time the relationship between patients and medical staff has changed, how knowledge has helped to bring change by offering the chance to critically revisit the training methods nowadays used.
