Franco Balmamion
A Winner of Giro d'Italia 1962-1963
Franco Balmamion was born in Nole the 11th January 1940.
He was a professional biker between 1961-1972. He won two edition of Giro d'Italia. In 1966 he was the leader of a team that Sanson recruited for him. With this team, however, he did not score any success. With Molteni team he won in 1967 the Giro di Toscana. Among his victories there is also a Milan-Turin race, the 1962 Giro dell'Appennino, and 1963 Zurig Championship.
In 2002, Bruno Bili published Franco Balmamion's biography,"il Campione silenzioso".
