Mario Giarda
A journalist between Novara and Milan
Interviewed in 2010, Mario Giarda was born in 1940 and has been a journalist of the national newspaper Corriere della Sera for many years.
He describes this experience and the one of commuting everyday back and forth to Milan in the early days of his job.
He describes Novara as it appears when he was a kid: silent, white streets against the landscape of rice puddies.
He also mentions Novara cuisine, which he feels too heavy, and its main dishes.
He also speaks about two Novara artists, Sebastiano Vassalli, a novel writer, and Guido Cantelli, an orchestra director.
