Josephine Lake

A culinary meltingpot

Josephine Lake was born in 1941. In 2011, she was interviewed by students of Ohio Wesleyan University for the Granaries of Memory.

Daughter of an immigrant family of Polish background, Josephine highlights the difference between the attitude to food of her family and the warm conviviality experienced visiting the families of her friends: Italians, Poles, Germans. From this contact with different food cultures she developed her particular foodway.

Telling of her family and the relationship with her children, Josephine expresses its food ethics and philosophy; an approach based on the research of genuine and fresh ingridients that often she directly cultivates.
