William Brown

Memories of a vocational agriculture teacher

 William Brown was born in 1940. In 2011, he was interviewed by students of Ohio Wesleyan University for the Granaries of Memory

William has been an agriculture teacher  in Ohio for nearly thirty years. Raised in a family of truck farmers, he tells the story of his family and their foodways. Comparing the past with the present days, his experience as a parent with his childhood, he describes the customs of a family in the American countryside and their transformations. In so doing, he portrays many dishes linked with the memory of his mother and his family.
