Angelo Carmine

Partisan

 Using the nom de guerre “John”, Angelo Carmine was a partisan during the Resistance. From 1943 until the end of the war he worked as a driver for Piero Balbo, better known as “Poli”, commanding officer of the autonomous partisan Second Division and leader of many disruptive missions against the Germans and the Fascists. His field of action was the Val Bormida, the Valle Belbo and the airfield at Vesime, where the British mission that helped occupy Alba was parachuted..
