
Delmo Maestri: Fascist regime and World War II

In this interview conducted in 2012, Delmo Maestri, born in 1928, presents his anti-fascist family. His father Ottavio was a communist militant and a tenacious opposer of the regime. He was sentenced to political confinement from 1934 to 1937. Maestri recounts the ways in which he established a relationships with other students of the city of Alessandria. After the early contacts with the partisan groups, he was actively involved in the Resistance as a member of the X Division Garibaldi (107 ° Brg), in the hills of Monferrato. He recounts the most important episodes of those years of war. His story comes to an end with the day of the Liberation of Alessandria, in April 1945.
