Eligio Germano, a farmer, and Giulio Cordara, a partisan, recall the Battle of Valdivilla between the partisans of the Second Langhe Division and the Fascists, in which Pinin Balbo, father of partisan commanding officer Piero, lost his life. Cordara is the only survivor of the slaughter, Germano the only witness.
