
Giuseppe Marinetti: from the Resistence to the Communist party

Interviewed in 2012,Giuseppe Marinetti, born in 1925 in Racconigi. He recalls some moments of his life: his childhood in a modest family; the impossibility of continuing his education; the work in factories in Turin; his anti-fascist teachers (Domenico Conti Mina and Ezio); the CLN of Racconigi and Don Chiavazza; the war and his decision to join the 104th Garibaldi partisan brigade in Dronero. In his account, he tells about the different organization of partisan groups and the harshness of war. The interview continues with a focus on his post-war work as a mechanic in Racconigi and Turin. Mr. Marinetti highlights the anti-union and anti-communist retaliation and his approach to the Communist Party, the party for which he has been mayor of Racconigi for several terms.
