La produzione di una grande fattoria
In this interview conducted in 2012, Cornelio Monti, born in 1945, talks about of his firm. The Guzzafame farm owned by the Monti brothers is not far from Milan and yet already immersed in a completely in the contryside. It is connected to Naviglio canal by a bike road that links Abbiategrasso to Milan.
Milk production and, therefore, the breeding of dairy cows have been the main Monti family's main business for over four generations.
The farm is nowadays an agriturism. For their resturant they began breeding also cows for meat production. Their herd counts about 450 cows, about 230 are cows for milk production. They are milked twice a day and produce daily about 6000 liters.
The cultivated land covers an area of ??about 70 hectares, 65 of which are used in order to produce fodder for livestock. The remaining 5 ectars are cultivated with cereals and other vegetables.
