Marco Rubelli Mauro Veca
A metropolitan beekeeper
Mauro Veca was born in 1969. In this interview conducted in 2012, he tells about the activity of beekeeping.
His work began in 1999 in collaboration with the Beekeepers Association of the Province of Milan. He worked as a technician. Later he became a beekeeper on his own.
As he explains: "I do not have a land on my onw, but I am hosted with my hives in the various farms of the Agricultural Park of Southern Milan. Thanks to Slowfood's Markets of Earth, I started selling directly to my consumers and entered into a network of producers. Next year I want to open a public course of beekeeping and place the hives in the city."
