A Licuri maker
Josenaide, from the Brazilian region of Bahia, was interviewed in 2010. She is the head of the cooperative firm that produce Licuri, a palm tree that grows in the area of Brazil.
Josenaide explains that with the arrival of multinational corporations and the growing industrialization have changed the eating habits. The Licuri was no longer produced but over time the awareness of the importance of agricultural land increased. So they started again from a small production scale. In 2006 along with a festival dedicated to the promotion of Licuri, the popular passion for this fruit has rekindled.
