Fabrizio Cavanna

A XV century mill renewed by Savanna family in Dronero

Fabrizio Cavanna, owner of the “Mulino della Riviera” in Dronero (CN), has been interviewed for the Granaries of Memory in 2013. In this interview, Fabrizio Cavanna narrates the history of his watermill, dated back to the XV Century, and explains how it became part of his family’s business, an artisan biscuit factory, estabilished in 1995. Took over and renewed in the middle ‘90s, this watermill has become first a support for the biscuit factory, supplying high quality flours with specific features, and than a real point of reference for high quality, collecting cereals from the small producers of Piedmont. Fabrizio explains how he was thought to fix and lead the watermill by its old owner, who shared with passion all his knowledge, and how the role of his family has been fundamental to start and carry on this new bold project.
