Luigi Paduano was born in Naples in 1947. He tells about his arrival to Turin where he was hired by the Fiat car factory. He describes the difficult integration within the local community; a situation that led him to a brief return to Naple and then his move to Volera. The description of his exprience sheds light on the social transformation of the town, in which he lived first of all hiring rooms in small hostels, then being given a concil house. He presents his family and the histories of other people in Volvera who had come from Southern Italy.
