Salvatore Caputo born in 1945 emigrated to Volvera from Apulia region. He tells the experience of his integration in the city which began in 1955. He tells his professional life, first of all as a worker in agriculture and then a metal worker at the FIAT car industry. He describes his experience as a trade unionist and the reasons led him to work for the FIAT.

Pasqualina Spennato, Salvatore's wife, tells the story of how they built their house, and set up their family.

Salvatore concludes the interview speaking of his militancy in the Communist party, his work as an activist and elected civil servant from 1970.
