The agronomist of Lucca
In this interview conducted in 2010, the agronomist Paolo Scialla, born on August 1, 1958, tells us about farming in Lucca province. This area main productions are olives, grapes, vegetables and fruit; they differ from the key production of the neighbouring region, Versilia, where they grow flowers.
He explains that micro, high quality companies have problems with the organizations of the access to market. The growing attention of the public on agriculture generates the possibility for small producters to direct sale their productions. Moreover, the Chamber of Commerce of Lucca created a selection of typical products of the province to help the production of these food specialties.
