Alberto Bettini

Osteria da Amerigo

Alberto Bettini, the owner of Osteria Da Amerigo, was born in 1961 and began work in the family business in 1988 alongside his mother, autn and their husbands. They carried on the work of Bettini's grandparents Amerigo and Agnese Vespucci who opened the restaurant in 1934.

Located in the commune of Savigno, in the Bolognese hills between Bologna and Modena, the establishment began life as grocery and tobaco store. In the postwar period it expanded to become a characteristic country osteria wirh an annexed TV room frequented by the town residents. Today it continue to offer traditional recipes together with more innovative bus simple dishes.

Over the years, the team, mostly family members, has always paid attention to the origin of its products: an endeavor that Bettini has driven in order to obtain the highest possibile quality and to integrate the surrounding environment into the menu.

The Osteria Da Amerigo has been a part of the Alliance between Italian Cheds and Slow Food Presidia since 2009, a Slow Food project linking restaurants and osterias committed to promoting and supporting Slow Food Presidia.
