Ada Pessini Moriondo

The traditional Monbaruzzo amaretto

Ada Pessini Moriondo, born in 1922, is the last producer of a famous “amaretto” producer's family in Mombaruzzo, the Moriondo.


Grew up in the small family activity, producing theese well known cookies by local and foreign ingredients (armelline from Damasco and almonds from Sicily), she is the last witness of the ancient and traditional amaretto di Mombaruzzo recipe.


At the age of eighteen years she went to Milan in order to help the family and her uncles in their own amaretto shop. In 1952 her uncles let the production activity and move definitely to Milan for working in the seller shop, so she returned to Mombaruzzo and continue to produce amaretto with her parents and her brother. After fifty years of activity, in 2002, she and her brother, Mario, stopped the production.
